The vibe

Yummelia is busy, busy and on the lookout for an extra set of hands to help make beautiful buttercream cakes come to life.  I'm looking for a happy, creative, cake-lover to join the team (me). You’ll be doing a mix of all kinds of things as it’s a small operation, but that’s what makes it fun.

This role is perfect if you:

Love baking

Have some stacking and decorating experience or you’re keen to learn

Get weirdly satisfied by clean benches and organised sprinkles

An eye for details

Enjoy filming pretty, behind-the-scenes moments

Want hands-on experience in a cake studio

Love a little tiktok scroll and have a eye for socials

Resourceful and confident, we don’t stress in this kitchen (gives us wrinkles)

What you’ll be doing

Baking & Cake Support

Helping with baking, mixing, measuring & prep (my recipes are choc/vanilla and not difficult)

Making buttercream (can teach you)

Checking stock levels

Assisting with cake storage and assembly

Bonus points for simple decorating skills

Packaging orders and finishing touches

You need to be able to confidently carry a cake without dropping it haha

Studio & Prep Life

Washing dishes, tins & tools (team effort, always)

Keeping the studio clean, organised & vibey

General prep and kitchen support on bake days

Having the foresight to clean, stack, grab when needed eg. drop something on the floor, grab the mop and clean it up without being asked like a perfect cleaning fairy.

Content & Creative Bits

Filming short BTS clips (piping, glazing, cake ASMR)

Helping capture casual content for Instagram & TikTok

Sharing creative ideas if that’s your thing. I am hoping to find someone that comes to work and says ‘I’ve saved some tiktoks we need to recreate’ or look at how beautiful this is…

Creativity and ideas are so welcome! I have A LOT of content just sitting on my phone waiting to be posted. I am hoping to find someone happy in their down time, whilst cakes are baking, to jump on the comp and schedule some content. We will be surrounded by beautiful cakes but I'm currently too time poor to do them justice, as a team I'd love to document the process in a fun and very gorg way.

Want to learn and grow your skills

Experience in baking, decorating, or social media is a bonus, but not essential — passion matters more. You do however need to know the fundamentals of baking and be able to pick up the recipes quickly once taught.

Cash dollar bills… remuneration will be worked out with experience taken into consideration. As a contractor will invoice me weekly and be paid $xx per hour inclusive of GST (if applicable) + 11.5% super.
